DIY Diabetes Management ("we," "us," "our") operates diydiabetesmanagement.com and the Sugar Smart Pro app (together, the "Services"). This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. Because our Services involve health information, we've written this to be as clear as possible — please read it before signing up.

Technical information: IP address, browser type, device type, and usage data collected automatically via cookies and similar technologies (see Section 6).
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide and operate the Services, including generating your dashboards, trends, and estimated HbA1c
- Process purchases and manage your subscription or one-time purchases
- Communicate with you about your account, updates, or support requests
- Improve and troubleshoot the Services

We do not sell your health data. We do not share your individual blood glucose readings, medication logs, or other health entries with advertisers.
3. Sensitive Information
Blood glucose readings, medication information, and other health data you provide are treated as sensitive information. We only collect and use this information to provide the Services to you, and we apply additional care in how it is stored, accessed, and secured.
4. Who We Share Information With
We may share limited information with:
- Service providers who help us run the Services (e.g., cloud hosting, Stripe for payment processing, email delivery), bound by confidentiality obligations
- Your healthcare provider, only when you actively choose to export or share a summary report from the app
- Law enforcement or regulators, only where required by law
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal or health information to third parties for marketing purposes.
5. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on secure servers with encryption in transit. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. No system is 100% secure, and we encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your account.
6. Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you logged in, remember preferences, and understand how the Services are used. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect functionality.
7. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your account and associated data
- Export your data (e.g., your logged readings) in a portable format
- Withdraw consent for optional communications at any time
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at antoller@yahoo.com.au.
Australian users: We handle personal information, including health information, in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
Users outside Australia: If you access our Services from another country, your information may be processed in Australia or another location where our service providers operate. Depending on your location, additional local privacy rights may apply (for example, under U.S. state privacy laws).
8. Data Retention
We retain your account and health data for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide the Services. If you delete your account, we will delete or de-identify your data within [X] days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or accounting purposes.
9. Children's Privacy
Our Services are not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page with a new "Last updated" date, and for material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify account holders directly.
11. Contact Us
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or how your information is handled, contact us at:

This policy is a starting template based on the information collected by your app and site. Because you're handling health data, we strongly recommend having a lawyer familiar with Australian privacy law (and any other jurisdictions your users are in) review this before it goes live — particularly around the Australian Privacy Principles for sensitive/health information and any obligations that may apply if you have U.S. or other overseas users.
